Meet the team

Bob & Mary Hopkins

18 years ago, Bob & Mary Hopkins pioneered Anglican Church Planting Initiatives which they continue to lead.

Alongside this, Bob & Mary are now part-time members of the Archbishop's Fresh Expressions  Team led by Steve Croft. They are also working in partnership with CMS for a mission movement.

They were involved in an inner urban church planting team from '83, developed a YWAM church planting and leadership school from '89 and helped start and resource the Anglican Cell Church movement from '95. They are on the team for Re:Source which is an interdenominational course for youth and young adult church planters. Bob & Mary served from 1998 to 2005 on the leadership team of St Thomas' Church, Sheffield with some 1500 in attendance and mainly reaching young adults and emerging culture. Bob helped St Thomas' develop a discipleship process called Lifeshapes and this is now being taken out nationally and internationally. They also helped set up, and are members of, the newly launched Order of Mission (TOM).
Bob was a consulting editor to the group which produced the Mission Shaped Church Report in Feb '04. With a Lincolnshire inter-denominational team, Bob & Mary are helping with a Mission-shaped Leadership Course which is in the process of adoption nationally as a regional Fresh Expressions 1 Year Training.

Freddy Hedley

Freddy is Team Co-ordinator, and has been a part of the team since June 2005. His role includes heading up the admin team, as well as contributing to the wider ministry of ACPI, with particular focuses on cell church, clusters, resourcing and training events.

Outside of ACPI Freddy is a member of St Thomas’ Church, Sheffield, where he leads a Missionary Congregation (cluster) and is in the process of planting a new Cell/Cluster in south Sheffield. In addition to this he is co-leader of Covenant, an emerging national network church, is a part of the 'ibis' worship group, and is on the leadership team of the Scripture Union Beach Mission at Sheringham, Norfolk.

Freddy is husband to Ali, father to Maisie, and a long suffering Derby County supporter!

Jude Stone

Jude has been with the ACPI team for four years - initially three days a week whilst part of Form, a training year at St Thomas', then casually during his University course and now two days a weeking managing the accounts, website and IT. Outside ACPI, he also works for a media company, is an overall leader on a CYFA Ventures camp and leads a missional community as part of St Thomas', Philadelphia.

Bruce & Colleen Mounsey

Bruce & Colleen worked with Bob & Mary in St Helens from '88 to '92. They helped pioneer the training and consultation processes of ACPI. Colleen is trained as a spiritual director and Bruce pastored a very successful church in Gisborne for many years. They came from New Zealand to rejoin the team in March 2006. They are available for consultation and hope to be involved as teachers and catalyst on the new generation of missional leader training.
