 Bob & Mary Hopkins

22 years ago, Bob & Mary Hopkins pioneered Anglican Church Planting Initiatives which they continue to lead.

Alongside this, Bob & Mary are now part-time members of the Archbishop's Fresh Expressions  Team led by Phil Potter. They are also working in partnership with CMS for a mission movement.

They were involved in an inner urban church planting team from '83, developed a YWAM church planting and leadership school from '89 and helped start and resource the Anglican Cell Church movement from '95. They are on the team for Re:Source which is an interdenominational course for youth and young adult church planters. Bob & Mary served from 1998 to 2005 on the leadership team of St Thomas' Church, Sheffield with some 1500 in attendance and mainly reaching young adults and emerging culture. Bob helped St Thomas' develop a discipleship process called Lifeshapes and this is now being taken out nationally and internationally. They also helped set up, and are members of, the Order of Mission (TOM) launched in 2002.

Bob was a consulting editor to the group which produced the Mission Shaped Church Report in Feb '04. With a Lincolnshire inter-denominational team, Bob & Mary helped develop the mission shaped leadership course which was adopted nationally as a regional Fresh Expressions 1 Year Training course in 2007 entitled mission shaped ministry. Bob & Mary have also served on the Ministry Division Working Group since 2003 which has overseen the development of the Pioneer Pathway for Ordained Pioneer Ministers (OPM's). They now serve on the selection panel

freddy hedley acpi.jpgFreddy Hedley

Freddy has been part of the ACPI team since June 2005 when, having been a school teacher of History and RE, he joined to work as administrator and trainee consultant. This role evolved into Team Co-ordinator as the admin team grew and he worked more in the wider ministry of ACPI, with particular focuses on small group church, clusters, resourcing and training events. This work has included two publications: a book (lessons from Antioch, 2007) and a booklet (Listening for Mission, co-written with Bob Hopkins and Steven Croft, 2006).

In April 2008 Freddy finished working full-time with ACPI in preparation to move to Norfolk to work with Fountain of Life church, helping with the development of ‘Lifeboat’ clusters. Since then he has been self-employed as a writer and training consultant, and is continuing to work part-time with ACPI in this capacity.

Freddy is also co-leader of Covenant Network Church, an emerging national network church, is a part of the ‘ibis’ worship group and is on the leadership team of the Scripture Union Beach Mission at Sheringham, Norfolk. In 2008 he joined the Fresh Expressions wider team as an Associate Missioner. Freddy is husband to Ali, father to Maisie, and a long-suffering Derby County supporter!
